This is how Yumberry looks before steeping. It is quite pretty!
My issue is when I scoop out the tea, I always end up with more fruit than oolong. :-(
It has been a long time! (~_~;)
ごめんなさい! ¡Lo siento!
죄송합니다! Sorry!
You may (or may not) remember that I said Hubs purchased a tea of the month subscription from Teavana as a birthday gift to me.
Well, I received my first batch of tea in June but I was on vacation so I couldn’t try the tea until we returned.
It is now the end of July and I am finally going to talk about my experience.
Oh, you may notice the setting for my tea is different. We moved recently and I am still searching for the perfect spot. This is just a trial run.
So without further adieu…
Today’s Tea:
Yumberry Wulong by Teavana.
This is a flavored oolong tea. It is Chun Ya oolong with bits of various fruits. (I will post a photo of the un-brewed tea.)
Let me be honest… this is not my favorite. I am not the world’s biggest fan of fruity teas. But I *am* a huge fan of green tea which is why Hubs purchased the green tea monthly option.
I can barely taste the flavor of the oolong because it is being overpowered by all the fruit. Also, there is quite a small amount of actual oolong in this blend if you ask me.
One thing I *do* like is that it is pink. It looks great in a cup/mug with a white interior. Very pretty!
Other than that, I have to say it just isn’t my cup of tea. Perhaps a tea drinker with milder tastes would enjoy this. The reason I love green tea is the distinct, usually grassy/seaweed-like flavor. This particular brew just tastes like an herbal fruit “tea”. There is nothing wrong with that at all, but I was looking forward to a green tea with a hint of fruit. Instead, I got fruit tea with a hint if oolong.
Sill, the tea itself isn’t bad. The quality is nice, the color is lovely and the scent is very bright and delicate. It simply doesn’t suit my tastes. Now I have to figure out what to do with the unopened 2oz bag I have left.
Re-gift!
o(^▽^)o
Waaaah! ごめんなさい (~_~;)
It has been such a long time. But I am back!
The boys and I are vacationing in Boulder. Visiting with my family. Today, we took off by ourselves and had lunch at the Dushanbe Teahouse in downtown Boulder. The pic is of me sipping on a delicious Japanese green tea called Gyokuro. I fell in love! It is sweet with no bitterness at all. And it has such a fresh green grassy flavor. Very smooth and creamy.
I wanted to buy a tin but they didn’t have it. However, I did find some at an adorable tea shop on Pearl Street called Ku Cha.
This tea is very expensive and the lady at the shop assured me that it was the best of Japan. And she would know because she was Japanese. :) She gave me specific brewing instructions so I would get the best experience possible… especially since it is not cheap!
If you love green tea, try this. It is absolutely exquisite!
Cheers!!
This weekend is a special one. It’s OKC Pride!!! I’m excited because I get to meet up with my friends who I never get to see anymore since we moved last summer for Hubby’s job.
I’m drinking my tea black and strong to give me a huge caffeine boost. I’m gonna need it.
Today it’s the chocolate and caramel black teas from Tea Spot. I mixed them again. I decided I like then together!
Happy Pride!!!
안녕!!!
It’s really hot out today. So, I’m having a snack indoors. Iced tea (minus the ice) and whole natural almonds. The tea is just cold brew black tea by Tazo. Normally, I would make a batch of cold green tea but I remembered I had this and I need to use it. It tastes good. Nice and flavorful. And I do *not* add sweeteners!!! The only time I drink sweet tea is when someone else has made it and it’s all they have or if I am eating at McDonald’s because otherwise their tea tastes terrible. As expected, I suppose. McDonald’s is the devil. I’m convinced their fries are laced with crack… I avoid that place like the plague.
Wah! Focus, Nerd Girl, focus. Almonds and unsweetened ice-less iced tea. Easy and delicious snack!
Oh, and isn’t that tumbler really cool? Hubs got it free from work and gave it to me. I will use the heck out of it!
¡Buenas tardes!
Time for my afternoon pick-me-up.
So there is a reason I don’t bake. Things never turn out right. My oatmeal scotchies are a bit over-cooked. Fail! But at least the tea is tasty. Today it’s vanilla chai by Bigelow. Definitely one of my favorite bagged tea brands.
Oh, and grapes are always yummy. :)
DisneyBound-ing as princess Ariel while having tea. Today’s tea: New Moon Darjeeling by Tea Spot.
Yesterday was my birthday. Hubs revealed that he bought me a tea of the month subscription with Teavana. I’ve yet to try their teas but I’ve heard great things! He purchased the green tea option because it’s my favorite tea type. My first teas will arrive next month. I can’t wait to try them!
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me! Let’s have some tea!! Happy birthday to meeeee!
Today it’s Chocolate “O” by the Tea Spot. It smells more chocolatey than it tastes. But, it is still a really solid black tea. Nice and strong. Great for mornings!
Happy birthday to any fellow May 14ers out there, as well! I hope your day is as awesome as you want it to be.
I am 26 today. It’s kind of crazy to think how quickly time flies. I don’t feel any different than I did at 16. Aaand, I don’t think I look any different either. I really look like I never went through puberty. Ha!!! Oh well. I embrace my child-like features and my girlish (or boyish, if I want to be accurate) figure. When I’m 40, no one will believe it. Score!!!
Happy Mother’s Day…? Then why do I look so pouty? I ate all of my gift, that’s why. It was delicious! A dozen chocolate covered strawberries filled with cheese cake. Decadence in the form of food. Yum!
Today’s tea: Irish Breakfast tea by Twinings. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t that great. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by The Tea Spot.
