Love her hair and the outfit is adorable! There is no way I could wear that here in OK in the summer. Pretty sure I would die from a heat stroke. #toohottowearclothes

Growing Out My Natural Hair
September 2009, I chopped off my hair to go “natural”. I loved the short cut. The hubs (the pale, shaggy haired guy next to me) wasn’t fond of it, but he’s pretty fond of me so… noneofthatmattered.
Fast forward to now. The end of April 2012.
I’ve been natural for nearly 3 years. You may wonder why my hair is still so short. Sure, it’s longer than it was after my “big chop”. But it isn’t flowing down my back.
Well… this is because I love the look of short, round-ish, curly fro. Love love love it. And when my hair starts to inch past shoulder length (when stretched…) it starts to get super floppy and droopy. It loses the cute shape along with the volume.
As much as I love a short and sweet fro, I’m kind of ready for a change. I want to see how long my hair can grow. So, no more playing with scissors.
I plan to document my growth here with an update post every 3 months. I’m not really into length checks. I don’t care how many inches I have or where it lands on my body when stretched. I will judge my growth by how *huge* my hair gets. I want the biggest fro I can possibly stand. :-)
